Cafe Kraftwerk at the foot
of the Bad Gastein waterfall
The restaurant in the power plant, which was newly opened in May 2016, offers a very special ambience
in a unique location: situated at 985 m above sea level, directly at the foot of the mighty Bad Gastein waterfall!
Along a meter-high wooden wall that tames the ionized water dust of the thundering waterfall,
deckchairs invite you to pause and enjoy this unique place of power.
Another 80 terrace seats are available for dining.
The power station, built in 1914, is one of the oldest in the province of Salzburg.
The operation was stopped in 1996. Today, parts of the power plant are under monumental protection,
the 2 powerful Francis turbines now serve as an impressive interior.
In the midst of the technical facilities, you can eat and drink in a colorful lounge landscape.
An impressive place - perfect for a pleasant detour from the center of the village via the Grabenbäckersteig, in connection with the
wonderful waterfall path to Bad Bruck, as the destination of the zip-line "Flying Waters" or to explore important historical relics.
The location can be booked all year round for exclusive events.
